Precinct 3 Celebrates the Reopening of Baldwin Boettcher Library

HARRIS COUNTY, TX - The ribbon is cut, and the doors are open at the newly reconstructed Baldwin Boettcher Library, located in the heart of Precinct 3's Mercer Arboretum & Botanic Gardens.

“The Baldwin Boettcher Library offers a wealth of educational services and resources to families across our community,” said Commissioner Tom Ramsey. “With its unique location in the beautiful Mercer Botanic Gardens, it’s a very special place that I encourage everyone to visit and spend a day enjoying the beauty of literature and nature.”

Since 1986, Baldwin Boettcher Library has served as a hub for education, programs, and outreach. Programs include summer reading sessions and the Little Blue Library, which offers a small collection of books and other materials for borrowing. The 10,000 square-foot library is built to the same specifications as the previous building, marking the return of the children’s reading area, gardening tool library, conference room, circulation space, and computer area. The exterior of the building features a new addition with the flood protection barrier.

“We are so excited to be reopening the Baldwin Boettcher Library,” said Edward Melton, director of Harris County Public Library. “We wouldn’t have been able to do this without the support of Precinct 3 Commissioner Ramsey and all of the work his staff has done to help get this project started and completed.”

The Baldwin Boettcher Library, managed by Harris County Public Library, is located at 22248 Aldine Westfield Road in Humble. For more information, please visit www.hcpl.net/locations/bb.
