HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A new Harris County park is opening in Precinct 3, nestled between the Cypress and Tomball areas, and located just south of the Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve.
Showcasing a boardwalk along Cypress Creek, playground, picnic area, and a pedestrian trail that leads to the improved 100 Acre Wood Preserve, this park is located at 20022 TX-249 in Houston and is free and open to the public with plentiful parking space. With this addition, Precinct 3 will now offer 70 parks for the public to enjoy.
“We’re excited to offer a new park with increased connectivity for constituents to use and enjoy free outdoor amenities,” said Commissioner Tom S. Ramsey, P.E. “The Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve includes so many beautiful park features, and it makes sense to expand on that with a new park and trail access to allow people to experience all of them in one visit.”
The park’s paved trail runs under TX-249, connects to the YMCA center, and ultimately leads to 100 Acre Wood Preserve, where Precinct 3 recently constructed a parking lot and shade canopy.
Both projects are a part of Precinct 3’s overall vision for the Cypress Creek Greenway and is included in the Precinct 3 Parks and Trails Master Plan. Plans are underway to eventually have multiple parks connected by the same trail, with more access points for users with added parking areas.
