Precinct 3 Honors Jeffrey Limmer with Renaming of Hickory Shadows Park

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – Jeffrey Wayne Limmer’s legacy will now live on in the form of his very own park, as he was an avid outdoorsman who loved nature.

Once Hickory Shadows Park, 1003 Wirt Road is now officially named Jeffrey Limmer Park. Limmer was a well-known attorney with Lewis Brisbois Law Firm. He was tragically murdered in May 2024 while trying to help others during a violent encounter with an irate customer at a nearby McDonald’s. Due to his bravery in trying to deescalate the situation, others were saved.

“Jeffrey was one of a kind, a man living through his faith in Christ and devoted to helping others,” said Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom Ramsey. “It was through his last brave act that other people that day remained unharmed, and such courage deserves to be honored. I hope visitors will reflect on his life and his bravery when visiting the Jeffrey Limmer Park.”

Limmer was open about his battles with addiction and how his faith and the AA community guided him toward sobriety as sources of strength, support, and inspiration.  He was loved by all, and especially by Lola, his rescue dog he adopted through the Rock-A-Bully and Friends Rescue in 2020.

Limmer grew up in Spring Branch and was a star athlete, having graduated from Memorial High School in 1996. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2000 and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order at UT. In 2004, he earned his Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law.
