Precinct 3 Breaks Ground Along Treaschwig Road

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – The Office of Commissioner Tom S. Ramsey, P.E. announces the start of construction this month along Treaschwig Road, just west of Aldine Westfield Road to west of Cypress Creek.

This project will convert the 2-lane asphalt roadway to a 4-lane concrete boulevard to improve traffic flow for approximately 18,000 vehicles that travel along the road daily.

“We’re always looking to improve traffic and road safety here in Precinct 3, especially roads like Treaschwig, where we have families living nearby with children commuting to school each day,” said Commissioner Ramsey. “I’m very proud to say our engineering team utilizes the highest set of standards to include elements in these road projects that not only enhance transportation, but also improves safety.”

A sidewalk will be constructed along the north side of Treaschwig Road, and a raised median will be constructed between the lanes to deter vehicle accidents that cross into opposite side of the road. The project will also include a traffic signal at Trilby Way, curb and gutter with storm sewer drainage, and a large detention basin near Cypress Creek.

Precinct 3, Aldine Independent School District, and the Timber Lane Utility District serve  as funding partners for the $20M project, which is set for completion during the fourth quarter of 2025.
